HISTORY
American Squares was founded in the
Spring of 2005 and had its opening dance at the A-1 Program on Tuesday, May
31, with BOBBY POYNER from Joliet,
IL doing the calling.
Then on Sunday, March 5, 2006, American Squares had its Official
Inauguration Dance at the A-2 Program with TONY OXENDINE from Sumter, SC
doing the calling.
In 2012 American Squares added occasional C-1 Dancing to its schedule and
changed its name to:
American
Squares Advanced & Challenge Square Dance Club
The atmosphere is
traditional, Square Dance, FUN. Never forgetting that is the reason why we
dance! Regardless of the Program or Level we achieve.
Unlike most traditional Advanced & Challenge Program Clubs; who usually
only have one Caller, American Squares has had many Guest Callers from all
over.
